Dignified Comfort

🔄 Delivered via Diverse Consultation Modalities (Standard GP 1.1A)

Face-to-Face Bedside Reviews (Our Gold Standard): Comprehensive health assessments, complex chronic disease management plans, and all routine medical assessments are delivered directly at the resident's bedside. Physical evaluation forms the foundational baseline of our clinical care.

Telephone Consultations: Utilized to support continuity of care for non-urgent clinical follow-ups—such as discussing stable routine pathology results or adjusting long-term medications with a facility nurse—where a hands-on physical exam is not clinically required.

Multidisciplinary Case Conferences: Formal, pre-arranged clinical discussions involving the GP, facility nursing staff, allied health, and family or guardians, delivered in-person or via telephone clinical infrastructure.

Medicare Alignment

All structured health assessments, chronic disease frameworks, and general practitioner consultations are assigned entirely to Medicare. There are no clinical gap fees or out-of-pocket accounting costs issued directly to families, facility partners, or individual residents.

⚠️ MEDICAL EMERGENCIES: This practice does not provide an emergency response or acute after-hours medical service. For acute chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden stroke symptoms, or major trauma, facility staff must immediately activate internal emergency protocols and dial 000 for an ambulance.

Practice Governance & Policies

Mandatory clinical frameworks and public patient safety boundaries for GPGo RACF.

⚖️ Clinical Triage & Care Access Boundaries (Standard GP 1.1B)

Because this practice is operated by a solo practitioner without a traditional physical waiting room or reception desk, clinical care requests are accepted directly from facility nursing staff during standard operating hours and prioritized dynamically based on clinical urgency:

  • Immediate Emergency Care: We do not provide acute blue-light emergency responses. For life-threatening presentations (such as acute chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden stroke symptoms, or major trauma), facility staff must immediately activate internal emergency protocols and dial 000.
  • Reactive Clinical Care: When facility nursing staff contact the practice during office hours regarding a non-life-threatening change in a resident's clinical status (such as suspected urinary or chest infections, minor falls, or acute wound changes), a Telephone Consultation may be initiated immediately to clinically triage the request. The General Practitioner exercises absolute clinical judgment based on this telephone triage to determine the safest response pathway—choosing to either dynamically adjust the mobile schedule for an in-person bedside review, or utilize the telephone consultation to execute immediate interim chart orders to safely bridge the care gap until a bedside review can be scheduled.
  • Routine Care: Routine administrative requests, stable chronic disease tracking, and non-critical diagnostic reviews are systematically allocated to the next scheduled weekly facility round or processed via telephone where clinically safe.
🚗 Alternative Care Pathways & Telehealth Policy (Standard GP 1.2A)

GPGo RACF operates exclusively as a mobile clinical service. Because we do not maintain a traditional brick-and-mortar clinic front, our designated consultation spaces are the Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) we partner with.

If an in-person bedside visit is rendered unsafe or operationally impossible due to external environmental factors, active facility outbreak restrictions, or unexpected provider illness, the following structured care pathways are activated to ensure continuous patient safety:

  • Telehealth Conversions: If a physical visit is blocked but care is urgently required and clinically appropriate via distance, the consultation will be converted to a telehealth service (via video or telephone). These consultations are conducted in close collaboration with the facility's on-duty clinical nursing staff to ensure safe bedside observation.
  • Provider Unavailability & After-Hours: In the event that our solo general practitioner is entirely unavailable due to sudden illness or incapacity, facility management is notified immediately. For urgent medical requirements during these times, or outside standard operating hours, facility staff are directed to utilize the RACF’s own internal clinical triage workflows and their designated, facility-preferred after-hours medical service.
  • Emergency Care: This practice does not provide an emergency response service. For life-threatening deteriorations, facility clinical teams must immediately activate emergency protocols and dial 000 for ambulance assistance.
📞 Communication Policy & Turnaround Times

Our practice receives general administrative and onboarding enquiries via our secure web liaison and direct phone channels. For routine, non-urgent clinical communication, facility staff and patient coordinators can securely forward messages, which are systematically processed and answered within 24 to 48 business hours.

To minimise disruptions to direct patient consultations, our general practitioner returns phone calls during dedicated administrative windows between structured facility clinical rounds. Electronic communication structures (emails and forms) are maintained purely for non-urgent administrative coordination and are not monitored continuously outside standard office hours. Electronic messages must never be used for acute or emergency medical requests.

🔒 Management of Patient Health Information

GPGo RACF manages all health records with strict confidentiality and in absolute compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988. Patient health information is collected solely to provide comprehensive geriatric medical services, coordinate clinical care plans, and maintain accurate ongoing health baselines within nursing facilities.

All records are stored within encrypted, role-managed digital clinical records systems. Health data is shared strictly with authorised members of the resident's healthcare circle—including host facility nurses, community pharmacies, and assigned treating medical specialists—unless disclosure is otherwise mandated by law. The full framework of our Privacy Policy statement and details on how to access or correct records can be requested by contacting our practice coordinator.

✍️ Providing Feedback or Making a Complaint

We actively encourage feedback from facility managers, clinical teams, residents, and their families to help us refine and elevate our clinical delivery models. If you wish to provide feedback or log an operational suggestion, you can submit details securely through the intake form below or call our practice coordinator directly.

If you have a formal complaint regarding service or patient care, our team treats the matter with absolute confidentiality and urgency. All complaints are systematically reviewed by our medical leadership and investigated internally, with a formal resolution pathway provided to you within 14 business days. If a complaint cannot be resolved to your satisfaction internally, you retain the right to escalate the matter directly to the Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO) Queensland.
